OVERLAND PARK, KANSAS — APS, a joint venture of the Kansas Hospital Association and the Missouri Hospital Association, is proud to announce WoodRiver Energy as the new supplier of natural gas for the APS Natural Program. As demonstrated last February during Winter Storm Uri, volatility in the natural gas market continues to increase. The Natural Gas Selection Committee selected WoodRiver Energy as they presented four options to our members to meet their needs and financial risk tolerance to protect their budgets.
“The Natural Gas Program category bid was awarded to WoodRiver Energy, LLC for their competitive pricing options, service choices, customer service, unique market insight, and comprehensive energy solutions to help manage and lower total energy costs,” said Dennis George, CEO, APS. “APS is committed to saving our member hospitals money, helping solve their diverse operational challenges, and sharing the buying power and best practices for the betterment of all hospitals in Kansas and Missouri.”
APS has a long history of generating significant savings to member organizations through many local and regional vendor contracts. For nearly 30 years, a large number of APS members have participated in the APS Natural Gas Program. This Program has provided the following benefits:
• Ability to purchase gas through a marketer, reducing utility transportation rates
• Protection from hidden fees and other costs
• APS Team provides contract negotiation of this complex commodity on their behalf
• Provides large savings for an organization’s facility operational expenses to reduce the cost of care
“We are excited to partner with APS to provide their members customized natural gas solutions,” said Don Krattenmaker, COO, WoodRiver Energy. “The energy landscape is changing quickly, and the solutions and long-term support that we provide APS members will help them meet the challenges of today and for years to come.”
The new partnership will go into effect on April 1, 2022.
